Program Highlights: As a branch of the Brooklyn College Center for Achievement in Science Education (CASE), the CSTEP program provides academic and professional services to students who would like to work in the various licensed professions including medicine, psychology, speech pathology, accounting, as well as those looking to have advanced careers in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields. As future leaders, CSTEP students are encouraged to be analytical, proactive, stay informed, and overall, be professionals. Through weekly academic and professional workshops, peer tutoring, and individual meetings students have the opportunity to learn new skills, outline their goals and devise a plan of action for their objectives. Students become proactive in their education through KAPLAN seminars, internship, research, conference opportunities, and graduate/career fairs. Collaboration is key to student success as well as attainment of resources; therefore, the CSTEP program makes every effort to work with departments on campus (Brooklyn College Magner Center, ERIS (CUNY Black Male Initiative), etc.), other CASE programs, as well as outside constituencies like Brookhaven National Labs and Cardozo School of Law. We are constantly looking to innovate, not only through student input but through different methods of relaying and streamlining information. Information is disseminated to the students through our CASE internship/externship database, the CSTEP website and multiple social networking websites.
