Program Highlights:
CSTEP began at St. Lawrence University (SLU) in 1986 at the inception of the state program. As a liberal arts institution, SLU does not have any programs leading to professional licensure; however, it does provide students with pre-health, pre-law and pre-engineering advising programs that assist students in matriculating at professional schools that lead to licensure. CSTEP maintains a required internship and/or research component and a minimum overall GPA of 2.5. Collaborations include shared hosting of the Annual Career Symposium with SUNY Potsdam and Clarkson University and an annual service day event. Since 1999, an average of 90% of graduating seniors completed at least one research or internship experience. SLU CSTEP student acceptance into graduate/ professional schools historically exceeds the overall SLU student acceptance levels.
