Program Highlights:
CSTEP at SUNY Upstate Medical University is unique! We strive to create an environment of holistic support that includes peer and professional tutoring, career training and advisement, skills enhancement workshops, and academic counseling to guide historically underserved students towards the completion of an advanced degree in medicine, biomedical research, nursing, and the allied health professions. Program services are designed to increase recruitment, retention and placement of eligible students in severe shortage areas of these fields. The program is outlined to help the scholars’ realize the importance of academic stability, networking, volunteering, and research, all which are imperative to advance in the health related licensed professions.
