Program Highlights:
CSTEP at NYU has helped Black Latino and Native American students who are New York State resident 2.7 overall GPA in the STEM fields. CSTEP offers academic support, career guidance, and skill building that help students identify and prepare for a career in these fields. Program Services: Free Tutorial Assistance is offered for a variety of courses. CSTEP has identified specific academic courses as challenging areas for students: general chemistry, biology, organic chemistry, physics, and calculus. Students also have access to Writing Across the Curricula which provides assistance with writing papers, essays and graduate school essays. Paid Research Opportunities CSTEP offers students the opportunity to apply and complete competitive internship programs. The internships provide students with research experience or community service opportunities. Mentorship CSTEP works with students to identify faculty members or organizations on or off campus, to serve as mentors in areas related to their field of study. Academic and Career Development Activities: career and academic guidance which build the solid academic foundation necessary to achieve their goals to enter licensed professions and awareness of trends in careers and career development. Graduate and Professional school admissions preparation: Standardized test preparation students are eligible for a 50% discount to enroll in Kaplan MCAT, LSAT, GMAT or GRE preparation courses. Summer Science Enrichment Program previewing Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Physics material and strengthen skills for academic excellence.
